L couldn't sleep, and although this wasn't uncommon he was glad to admit it hadn't happened in a while. The nights when he couldn't sleep were getting less and less though he knew they would never truly go away. L sat up and looked at the sleeping form of the man next to him. He knew Light hated it when he didn't (couldn't) sleep. When the younger male woke there would be hell to pay, buy for now he couldn't bare another minute sat in bed staring at the celling, just thinking. He sighed as he made his way to the kitchen of their flat, to make himself a much needed coffee. He was going to make staying awake as painless as possible. He sighed as he sat down in his favourite arm chair if anyone else had been in the room they would be surprised that he hadn't taken his normal thinking position. Being able to think at an increased rate of 40% wasn't helpful. Not when what he truly needed was distraction from his own thoughts. He got up once more making his way again to the kitchen

Suki watched as her boyfriend played with his chopsticks and never actually brought any food to his mouth. She had tried starting a conversation twice, only to see him nod absently at her words, never actually joining in the conversation. He had been completely preoccupied since he sat down with her in the cafeteria. It wasn't something she hadn't seen before; if he and Light were in the middle of a really difficult case, he'd behave the same way, but she hadn't heard anything about a case. Also, on those kinds of days, Light himself would be here as well, continuing the discussion of whatever it was they were working on. But Light wasn't here; it was just she and Matsuda, well actually, it was just she; Matsuda was definitely somewhere other than with her. She reached across the table and touched his hand, making him start and look up at her.
"Touta, what's bothering you so much?" she asked and he sighed deeply.
"I'm sorry Suki, I don't

L stretched out and wriggled his toes. I don’t want to get up. It’s so warm and cosy. Can’t I just stay in bed? Hang on… bed? When did I get into bed? L opened his eyes.
“Light-kun, why are you are staring at me?” L asked. “Did you put me here?”
“Yes.” Light smiled. “You fell asleep on the floor. I thought you looked cold.”
“Oh, um, thank you then, Light-kun. That was very nice of you,” L said. “But could you, um, please stop staring at me now?” It’s kind of unnerving.
“Of course,” Light said, his cheeks turning strawberry coloured again. “I’m sorry, L. Do you want to get up now?”
L glanced at the clock; he’d already overslept. “Do we have to?” he sighed. “I don

Light looked through the glass window leading to the center quad of his high school. The senior really did not want to be stuck here, since he could disappear and still pass all his classes with an "A". He als

After a long day at headquarters, I decided to relax. Well, it's kind of hard to relax with someone handcuffed to you who might be a serial killer. Light Yagami, soft light-brown hair, tan suit, and dark red tie. He was a portrait of perfection...it's hard to believe that he might be Kira, a mass murderer who can kill his victims just by knowing their name and face. Light had recently been in confinement, trying to prove that he was not indeed Kira. We finally proved that he was not Kira, but I still don't know 100%.
Now the two of us were sitting on a couch in our room at headquarters, attached to each other. It wasn't to my liking that we were handcuffed, but we had to do it to make sure that he was not Kira and just somehow hiding it. I tried to get the thoughts of Kira out of my head. My hand reached for a small plate with a slice of cake on it that was sitting on the table. I was about to take a bite

Matsuda was planning something by the smug grin he attempted to hide from view, but failed in doing so as it continued to annoy both L and Light. And they knew exactly what he was scheming, too.
"Matsuda-san," L spoke, tip of his finger balanced delicately on his bottom lip, "You wouldn't be planning to decorate my building in season tidings behind my back, would you? I have already stated previously that I disapproved of such a thing. I cannot afford to have holiday decorations taking my attention. We have a very serious case to work on."
Light ruffled some papers. He didn't look at the detective because L had stared at the computer screen for over two hours and had not looked at anything else; he often wondered how well L's eyesight really was because he often saw things quickly and with detail, but all that time before the screen had to make some damage.

L slid quietly out of Light's arms and rose from the bed. Looking down at the sleeping detective he loved so much reinforced what he already felt; Misa was up to no good, even if Light refused to see it. The fact that Light didn't want to deal with it seriously troubled him greatly. He had tried to talk to him about it again last night after extremely vigorous lovemaking; which he believed was Light's way of trying to make him forget about the whole thing. Of course it hadn't, if anything it strengthened his resolve to track down exactly what Misa was up to by making him even more aware of what he was afraid to lose.
He quietly pulled on his jeans and went out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him and making his way into his office. He then began to pull up everything he could find on Misa. As all of the information began to fill his screens, he couldn't help the ball of anger he felt inside as he looked at her pictures. He remem
