Chapter 4 Nothing To Hide
"Light, what are you doing?" Rem demanded as she saw what Light had written in his case notes.
As with Gelus before, Rem was powerless to stop him and could only watch as her new friend penned his own doom.
Light leaned back in his chair, a defeated look on his face. He knew full well that he had just screwed himself over. He forced a grin as he left his notes on his desk.
"Hey Rem, want to play some video games?"
"But... we're on camera."
"Please, Light? This is foolishness!"
"It's too late to stop it, it's done. Please, Rem? Just one game? We don't have long."
Rem sighed and picked up the proffered controller.
L's ice cream had fallen in his lap as he stared at the screen in shock as he watched what Light wrote in his case notes. Mr. Yagami wasn't fairing much better as Light proceeded to have a conversation with the empty air and then sat down next to the floating game controller to play
Foolishly In LoveL always thought love was a foolish thing, but that was until he met Light Yagami. He knew having feelings for a prime suspect was wrong, but love had no boundaries. No matter how illogical and inappropriate it seemed. The Auburn-haired teen had an impact on L that no one has had before. L was the awkward and anti-social type, but he had feelings too. Many people in past cases always said he was inhuman. Well that was about to change.Foolishly In Love by LawlietLight7
L had been trying for a while to tell Light how he felt and the handcuffs bounding them together didn't help much. He decided today was the day he was going to tell Light how he felt. L looked over at Light, who was typing away at his computer. L grew nervous from just looking at him. He sighed and sat there in his usual position, poking at his cake with his fork.
"Are you alright, Ryuzaki? You have barely eaten any of your cake. That's not like you.", Light said, genuinely concerned. The detective's onyx eyes met the teen's caramel ones. "I'm fine

Suki watched as her boyfriend played with his chopsticks and never actually brought any food to his mouth. She had tried starting a conversation twice, only to see him nod absently at her words, never actually joining in the conversation. He had been completely preoccupied since he sat down with her in the cafeteria. It wasn't something she hadn't seen before; if he and Light were in the middle of a really difficult case, he'd behave the same way, but she hadn't heard anything about a case. Also, on those kinds of days, Light himself would be here as well, continuing the discussion of whatever it was they were working on. But Light wasn't here; it was just she and Matsuda, well actually, it was just she; Matsuda was definitely somewhere other than with her. She reached across the table and touched his hand, making him start and look up at her.
"Touta, what's bothering you so much?" she asked and he sighed deeply.
"I'm sorry Suki, I don't

Light looked through the glass window leading to the center quad of his high school. The senior really did not want to be stuck here, since he could disappear and still pass all his classes with an "A". He als

After a long day at headquarters, I decided to relax. Well, it's kind of hard to relax with someone handcuffed to you who might be a serial killer. Light Yagami, soft light-brown hair, tan suit, and dark red tie. He was a portrait of perfection...it's hard to believe that he might be Kira, a mass murderer who can kill his victims just by knowing their name and face. Light had recently been in confinement, trying to prove that he was not indeed Kira. We finally proved that he was not Kira, but I still don't know 100%.
Now the two of us were sitting on a couch in our room at headquarters, attached to each other. It wasn't to my liking that we were handcuffed, but we had to do it to make sure that he was not Kira and just somehow hiding it. I tried to get the thoughts of Kira out of my head. My hand reached for a small plate with a slice of cake on it that was sitting on the table. I was about to take a bite

Matsuda was planning something by the smug grin he attempted to hide from view, but failed in doing so as it continued to annoy both L and Light. And they knew exactly what he was scheming, too.
"Matsuda-san," L spoke, tip of his finger balanced delicately on his bottom lip, "You wouldn't be planning to decorate my building in season tidings behind my back, would you? I have already stated previously that I disapproved of such a thing. I cannot afford to have holiday decorations taking my attention. We have a very serious case to work on."
Light ruffled some papers. He didn't look at the detective because L had stared at the computer screen for over two hours and had not looked at anything else; he often wondered how well L's eyesight really was because he often saw things quickly and with detail, but all that time before the screen had to make some damage.

L slid quietly out of Light's arms and rose from the bed. Looking down at the sleeping detective he loved so much reinforced what he already felt; Misa was up to no good, even if Light refused to see it. The fact that Light didn't want to deal with it seriously troubled him greatly. He had tried to talk to him about it again last night after extremely vigorous lovemaking; which he believed was Light's way of trying to make him forget about the whole thing. Of course it hadn't, if anything it strengthened his resolve to track down exactly what Misa was up to by making him even more aware of what he was afraid to lose.
He quietly pulled on his jeans and went out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him and making his way into his office. He then began to pull up everything he could find on Misa. As all of the information began to fill his screens, he couldn't help the ball of anger he felt inside as he looked at her pictures. He remem
