Innocence - Chapter SixWednesday 28th July 2004Innocence - Chapter Six by kit-kat-151
L was lying in bed, watching Light sleep. It was peaceful. L had been thinking about touching Light’s hand, which was resting on the pillow beside his head. He wouldn’t do it, but he wanted to. He wanted to know if Light’s skin was still as warm as before. What was that? L sat up. He was sure he’d heard movement in the corridor outside their room.
There was a knock at the door. L glanced at the display on Light’s watch. 3:00AM. Who on earth is that? L got out of bed and marched across the room. He stopped when the chain tightened, a metre or so from the door.
“Who’s there?” he whispered.
“L, it’s me.” Watari? L unlocked the door with his toes and kicked it open.
“What do you want, Watari. I could have been asleep.”
“But you weren

Light opened his eyes, half expecting to find L staring at him again. But the detective was nowhere to be seen.
“L?” Light sat up and looked down at his wrist. Well, I’m still handcuffed. He can’t have gone far. Light followed the chain across L’s side of the duvet. “L?” he called, peering under the bed. The detective was lying there on the floor, staring up at the slats of the bed. Shit. “L?!” Light jumped of off the bed and crouched beside him. The detective still hadn’t moved. Shit, shit, shit. “L? Are you okay?” Light reached out to touch L’s wrist. Please be warm. Please have a pulse. Please, L… Move. Light placed his fingers on L’s skin.
“Boo.” L whispered.
Light scrambled backwards and hit his head on a table leg.

There's only so many flaws you can notice over a period of time. The blood that stains the hands of an innocent mind, and corrupts the one and only decent thing left in your system.
I'm not a perfect person
Realizing these things can ruin everything. Having the dream of a perfect world, right in the palm of your hand. The blood rubs off on others and creates a chain reaction.
But then you find something that side tracks your so-called, perfect plan. Love. The word tingles through my vains and causes more than pain and agony go through me. It hits me more than the revital feeling of getting kicked in the face by your enemy...enemy...
L...Lawliet. The name I have fallen deeply for. Intellectual equals. But opposite in all other forms.
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I gave my heart and soul to this man. He accepted me, even though he knew the truth. The man he saw before him was nothing much more than a cold blooded killer.
Showing me his affection, fingers

Don't like? Don't read!
After a long day at headquarters, I decided to relax. Well, it's kind of hard to relax with someone handcuffed to you who might be a serial killer. Light Yagami, soft light-brown hair, tan suit, and dark red tie. He was a portrait of perfection...it's hard to believe that he might be Kira, a mass murderer who can kill his victims just by knowing their name and face. Light had recently been in confinement, trying to prove that he was not indeed Kira. We finally proved that he was not Kira, but I still don't know 100%.
Now the two of us were sitting on a couch in our room at headquarters, attached to each other. It wasn't to my liking that we were handcuffed, but we had to do it to make sure that he was not Kira and just somehow hiding it. I tried to get the thoughts of Kira out of my head. My hand reached for a small plate with a slice of cake on it that was sitting on the table. I was about to take a bite

Matsuda was planning something by the smug grin he attempted to hide from view, but failed in doing so as it continued to annoy both L and Light. And they knew exactly what he was scheming, too.
"Matsuda-san," L spoke, tip of his finger balanced delicately on his bottom lip, "You wouldn't be planning to decorate my building in season tidings behind my back, would you? I have already stated previously that I disapproved of such a thing. I cannot afford to have holiday decorations taking my attention. We have a very serious case to work on."
Light ruffled some papers. He didn't look at the detective because L had stared at the computer screen for over two hours and had not looked at anything else; he often wondered how well L's eyesight really was because he often saw things quickly and with detail, but all that time before the screen had to make some damage.

L slid quietly out of Light's arms and rose from the bed. Looking down at the sleeping detective he loved so much reinforced what he already felt; Misa was up to no good, even if Light refused to see it. The fact that Light didn't want to deal with it seriously troubled him greatly. He had tried to talk to him about it again last night after extremely vigorous lovemaking; which he believed was Light's way of trying to make him forget about the whole thing. Of course it hadn't, if anything it strengthened his resolve to track down exactly what Misa was up to by making him even more aware of what he was afraid to lose.
He quietly pulled on his jeans and went out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him and making his way into his office. He then began to pull up everything he could find on Misa. As all of the information began to fill his screens, he couldn't help the ball of anger he felt inside as he looked at her pictures. He remem
